Interxion, Digital Realty’s European subsidiary based in Amsterdam, has completed a deal for the purchase of Croatia’s market-leading data centre operator Altus IT. The company has described the deal as a gateway into the southeast European market.

The deal, which closed on Wednesday, The sale represents Interxion’s first entrance into the Croatian market, which is currently home to 8 colocation data centres and 36 cloud providers.

Altus IT operates a single data centre in the Croatian capital of Zagreb and serves over 100 customers, around 50 connectivity providers – including five of the major carriers in the country – and two of Croatia’s main internet exchanges.

"We are delighted to enable a global presence for our customers in Croatia and to bring additional value by enhancing the availability and quality of our services," said Đoreski in a statement to the press.
